A Night to Remember – 15 July 2025

On 15 July 2025, our parish community gathered for a truly special and grace-filled evening as parishioners, friends, and welcomed visitors came together for Solemn Vespers and the Rite of Induction of Father John Waters as our Parish Priest at St Wulstan’s Catholic Church.

The celebration brought together the communities of St Wulstan’s, Wolstanton and St John’s, Chesterton, joined by members of other Christian communities from across the town, as well as friends and family from places where Father John has previously served. It was a powerful expression of unity, welcome, and shared prayer.

Set within the Office of Vespers, the Church’s evening prayer, the liturgy was both solemn and joyful. Celebrated on the Feast of Saint Bonaventure, the evening reminded us of the harmony between faith and reason and invited us to give thanks for the past while entrusting all that lies ahead to Almighty God. The Rite was led by Canon Paul McNally, whose presence added to the dignity and significance of the occasion.

The atmosphere throughout the evening was warm, prayerful, and deeply uplifting—a beautiful celebration that many will remember for years to come.

Our heartfelt thanks go to all the clergy, sacristans, choir members, helpers, volunteers, and those working faithfully behind the scenes. Your dedication and service ensured the evening flowed seamlessly and reflected the very best of our parish life.
